Project Overview
A leading medical products manufacturer engaged a large engineering and construction management firm to design, engineer, and provide preconstruction services for a new manufacturing line. A preliminary budget was created, funding was obtained, and the project was fully designed.
Challenges & Objectives
- Post-design proposal pricing came in about 20% over the pre-design budget.
- That exceeded the project funding by a wide margin and put the feasibility of the entire project at risk.
Our Solution
The manufacturer had a history of collaborating with Magna Mechanical. Together with the construction management firm, they asked Magna to take on the installation of the robotic production equipment, all production utilities, and the platforms and catwalks needed to service and maintain the line.

Magna Mechanical scoped the work and assembled a comprehensive proposal. By contracting Magna directly for much of the scope, the customer reduced the cost of multiple tiers of contractors.
